[untitled]

I treasure ev’ry crinkle of leaf ‘neath my feet,
ev’ry breath of frostbit air
decibels of sounds alighting on my ears
breezes that jumble my hair

I linger here in minutes
leaving ev’rything behind
thinking not on God, or man…
no, nothing of the kind.

Yet… as I ponder this world,
knowing not what it is for,
or even if it has purpose,
I am convinced as ne’er before,

As I smell the leaves
see the frozen sun dancing on the waves
feel the wind disregard my jacket…
hear birds speak of their lives,

I know.
Simply know.
I exist.

And it takes my breath away.
